PC Learning Center, Inc. is locally owned and operated by Lonnie and Jana Phillips since 1992.
Jana Phillips has been teaching computer courses since 1986. She is known for her enthusiasm, patience, and knowledge of the material. She also has a special ability to communicate to her students in an "easy to follow" way, and can relate the topics taught in the classroom to the students own work environment.
She writes the curriculum for each course using laymen terms and step-by-step instructions. This is not only useful in class, but is also extremely helpful once the students return to the office to put their learning experience to use.
Janas wide range of experience includes teaching courses and writing curriculum for Rose State College, Oklahoma City Community College, and Francis Tuttle, Metro Tech, and Mid-Del Vo-Tech schools.
Lonnie Phillips, handles the business side of PC Learning Center. He scoped out the best location for their center to have a central location with easy access. He does all of the accounting, using his extensive accounting experience and his accounting degree he obtained from the University of Central Oklahoma in 1984.
Lonnie worked as an accountant for an insurance company until he decided that he and Jana could start a successful business of their own in 1992. Lonnie handles the administrative duties of the business, with the help of his able assistant, Lori Baxter. He does quite a bit of the hardware maintenance required to keep their many computers running at top capacity. He networked the computers and upgrades the machines with more memory and new hard drives and processors as needed.
He also teaches some of the Microsoft Excel classes, as he loves the Excel program and has used it many years in his own work. His students appreciate his "real-world" experience with the software. His favorite class to teach is the Introduction to PCs course. He loves to help new, unsure students discover the world of computers and learn to enjoy it.
